About Linda Modica
Linda Modica is a visual artist and designer whose work explores identity, perception, and personal narrative through collage and layered imagery.
Her compositions combine photography, painting fragments, and found imagery to construct portraits shaped by influence, memory, and place. Working with visual fragments—pieces of her own paintings, landscapes, and symbolic references—she assembles images that reflect the way creative identity is built over time.
Modica’s background as a strategic designer informs her artistic practice. As founder of LMI+D (Linda Modica Innovation & Design), she has spent decades developing brand systems, publications, and immersive visual environments for organizations and associations. Her collage work extends that same instinct for structure and storytelling into a more personal, exploratory space.
Place also plays an important role in her imagery. Coastal landscapes, travel experiences, and moments of observation often appear as quiet visual references embedded within her compositions.
Through collage, Modica explores how artists are shaped by what they see, create, and remember—constructing portraits that exist somewhere between design, painting, and visual autobiography.
Based in New Jersey, she continues to develop work that examines the intersection of identity, landscape, and artistic influence.
